Tommaso Vitiello

He was born in Mercogliano (AV) on 09 November 1992

From an early age he had a great passion for art history and cinema and during his high school studies he became increasingly close to photographic language. He graduated in 2016 at  Arts and  Tourism for Cultural Heritage with a thesis in Art History and Methodology, named "NAPLES PHOTOGRAPHED", with Professor Carmela Vargas.
During these same years he attended the two-year course of photography and lighting technology by Davide Scognamiglio, lighting designer and photographer of the Manovalanza theater company in Naples, from which it emerges much more formed and with a new predisposition to the practical technical aspect for the lighting arrangements and for theatrical photography.
Between 2015 and 2017 he joined the technical staff of Stefano Gargiulo's KAOS PRODUZIONI, taking part in the realization of various projects including the interactive museum itinerary of the Museo del Banco di Napoli, the video installation "Moltitudes" by photographer Antonio Biasiucci and the multimedia itinerary at the "Memus" museum of the San Carlo theater on the occasion of the anniversary of Giovanni Paesiello. In all these projects he takes care of various tasks from the scenographic setting to the projectors department, from the assembly and aiming of lights up to the photographic documentation of the work.

In 2016 he, then, worked in the studio of the video artist Franz Cerami developing good video editing skills, motion graphics animation, management and control of a projector, creating together with the work group installations such as "Migrant Sirens" projected in Pietrelcina (BN) and "EGGS and SKULLS" video-installation inside the courtyard of the MADRE Museum of contemporary art in Naples.
Between 2018 and 2019, he deals with the documentation of the FOODISTRIBUTION project by Davide Scognamiglio and Daniele Ciprì, for the Napoli Teatro Festival Italia.

He currently works as a freelance photographer, mostly in the field of stage photography, backstage and commercial photography, carries out some personal photographic research and as a videomaker for short projects.
