Ciro Battiloro
Ciro Battiloro was born in Torre del Greco, in the province of Naples, on 11 October 1984. He attended his studies and graduated from the Liceo Classico. He continues them by enrolling in the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the Federico II University of Naples, interrupting them, however, shortly before the end, to devote himself to his interests. He dedicates himself to photography starting to shoot from the beginning with analogue supports, preferring the documentary and reportage genres.

His photographic activity can be defined as "social reportage" as the subject of his works are the people represented in moments of greatest spontaneity and truth: everyday life.
He traveled to Africa, Iran, the Balkans, not forgetting Naples and its various microcosms, from Rom camps to popular neighborhoods, the subject of his latest work in progress.

"Health"
Ciro Battiloro welcomes foreign tourists every day, and has returned - and returned - gaining a complete and familiar trust in the Sanità district in Naples, getting his hands on tiptoes dirty, supporting life with his second eye and without violating anyone, with delicacy and respect.
Photography, today more than ever, is predatory by digital inclination, it hurts and rages. Here the gut of the city is still throbbing, physically or immaterially, in the narration of the media. In via Cristallini, in the 1950s, the masters of reportage photography passed by, first of all, and absolute reference point, Luciano D’Alessandro. But Battiloro makes an unusual difference, his production is in tune with a historical work such as that of Lucia Patalano who spent ten years at Healthcare. The method initiates a path of deep knowledge that in photography becomes a caress that does not indulge, essential and participatory, incisive in restoring the sensitive body by engraving it in black and white, the best part of that flesh that can also be bestial.
The wide angle focuses on life in its intimate and sweet fold. The black and white features of a perennially painful humanity emerge from the shadow of the tuff showing those intense, unsettling, sweet relationships of love between the eye and the subject, weaving a deep bond with life and death.
